Subject: | Kennel License Revocation and No New Kennel Licenses for Immediate Family Members |
In the near future I will be introducing legislation that will amend Act 225 (Dog Law), PL 784, of 1982 by stating that if a kennel license has been revoked; no new kennel license shall be issued to a person who is a member of the immediate family nor to any person who resides at the same address of the current license. The reason for the introduction of this legislation is simple - I was informed of an incident where a kennel owner was cited for violations and the license was revoked. The owners wife then applied for a kennel license and was issued the license with the stipulation that her husband could not touch the animals. This legislation will work to further strengthen penalties for cruelty and protect the animals throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Please join me in co-sponsoring this important legislation. |
