Subject: | Call Center Legislation |
To all Senators, In the near future I will be re-introducing legislation from last session, that would require companies to disclose their plans to move call centers from Pennsylvania to foreign countries. This would include customer services, technical support services, soliciting sales, research surveying, fund raising, and collection of orders. If a company should choose to relocate its call center overseas, they must notify the Secretary of the Department of Labor and Industry 120 days prior to doing so. This would be applicable to any call center that does 30% or greater of the company’s volume from said center in Pennsylvania. Any violation of this would result in a fine of $10,000 per day of every day prior to the 120 day period of removal. If have any additional questions, please contact my Harrisburg office at 717-787-9608. Thank you. |
