Subject: | Increase Size of LCB - former HB 938 of 2013-14 |
I plan on re-introducing HB 938 from last session that would increase the size of the Liquor Control Board from three members appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate to nine members. The purpose of increasing the size of the Board is to improve the way the PLCB is run. I firmly believe there should be members of the Board with experience in the industry. The members will be appointed in the following manner:
- One shall be appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate (in addition to his above choice) - One shall be appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives (in addition to his above choice) All members of the Board will serve a four-year term, ending on the third Tuesday in May. Five members will constitute a quorum and, any action taken by the Board will require the approval of at least five members. |
Introduced as HB55
