Subject: | Homeowners Association Contributions Tax Deduction (Prior HB 551) |
As you all are aware, many homeowners across the State are having a difficult time keeping up with all of their financial obligations as it relates to their home. In response to this, several bills have been introduced with the intent of removing a portion of the burden homeowners are shouldering. However, I plan to take a different approach in providing relief for homeowners across the State. In the near future, I plan to reintroduce former Rep. Mario Scavello's legislation (former HB 551) that will assist all Pennsylvania homeowners that are required to contribute to a homeowners association. If enacted, my legislation would permit homeowners to deduct 75% of the total amount they remitted to a qualifying association from their State PIT return. Our current economic climate has placed a large burden on homeowners by adding additional or increasing financial obligations. Previous Cosponsors: EMRICK, HARHART, STEPHENS, R.
