Subject: | Co-sponsor-Legislation to provide for Disabled Veterans Annual Hunting and Fishing License Reciprocity |
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that will amend Title 30 (Fish & Boat Code) and Title 34 (Game Code) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, authorizing the Pennsylvania Attorney General to enter into reciprocal agreements with other states allowing Disabled Veteran Annual Fishing and Hunting licenses issued by the Commonwealth and each state in agreement to be recognized reciprocally and valid in any state participating in such an agreement. The legislation will require that participating states reciprocally recognize valid, lawfully issued Disabled Veteran Annual Hunting and Fishing licenses, provided the Attorney General has determined that the hunting and fishing laws of the states are similar to the hunting and fishing laws of this Commonwealth. I believe this will be of great benefit to our disabled veterans who gave so much of themselves in service to us, and help encourage more travel by disabled veteran residents while attracting tourism and sportsmen’s dollars to the Commonwealth from out-of-state disabled hunters and anglers. |
