Subject: | Cosponsor-Resolution designating September 2015 as “Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month” in Pennsylvania |
In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution designating September 2015 as “Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month” in Pennsylvania. It is estimated that 21,980 American women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer this year and more than 14,180 will die as a result. Ovarian cancer is the ninth most common cancer in women. One woman out of every 75 will develop ovarian cancer at some point in her lifetime. There is no single test that will diagnose this cancer and for this reason, many women are not diagnosed until late in the development of ovarian cancer. Ovarian Cancer is difficult to diagnose because the symptoms are subtle and very often misinterpreted by both women and physicians. I would greatly appreciate if you would join me in co-sponsoring this important resolution to help raise awareness of Ovarian Cancer. |
