Subject: | Resolution recognizing October 21, 2015 as Biomedical Research Day |
I am planning to introduce a resolution recognizing October 21, 2015 as National Biomedical Research Day in Pennsylvania. Virtually every major medical advance in the past century has depended upon biomedical research. These advances include the prevention and treatment of cancer, discoveries of vaccines for the prevention of measles, mumps, polio, hepatitis and others. The biomedical research community in Pennsylvania and throughout the United States is recognized as the world leader in discovering and developing new knowledge and ideas that promote better health and the treatment of disease. I invite you to join me in recognizing the many companies, research institutions, scientist and the many individuals who have benefited from biomedical research in recognizing October 21st as the National Biomedical Research Day in Pennsylvania. |
