Subject: Authorizing Slot Machines in OTW’s and Other Facilities
 
In the immediate future, I will be introducing legislation to permit the operation of slot machines at nonprimary (Off-track Wagering Facilities) and ancillary locations. Under the bill, Category 1 (Racinos) would be permitted to operate up to 250 slot machines at 2 OTW locations. Additionally, Category 2 (Standalone Casinos) slot machine licensees would be authorized to place up to 250 slot machine in 2 ancillary locations. In order to operate slots in these locations, the casino would pay an application fee of $5 million per facility. Additionally, revenue from these slot machines would be taxed at 54%, which will be deposited into the General Fund.
