Subject: | Honoring Pennsylvania’s First Responders |
In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution honoring and celebrating the contributions and sacrifices made by Pennsylvania’s first responders. The men and women who serve as law enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency medical technicians, our “first responders,” are worthy of recognition for their courage, heroism and concern for the welfare of the communities they serve, regardless of peril or injury to themselves. Police officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel, both career and volunteer, risk their lives every day to make our communities safer through such efforts as search and rescue operations, hazardous materials response, crime and fire prevention and safety education, and responding and treating a variety of life-threatening emergencies. First responders make the ultimate sacrifice to protect the citizens they serve whether the danger is the result of natural or manmade disasters. Additionally, these brave men and women spend countless hours and holidays away from their families in the name of public safety. Not only are they courageous in the face of danger, they are leaders in times of crisis. Please join me in honoring our first responders by co-sponsoring this important resolution. Thank you in advance for your consideration. If you have any questions, please contact Lynette Perkins at 717-772-2283 or by e-mail at LMPerkins@pahouse.net. |
