Subject: Certification for FPR Haulers and Brokers
 
Food processing residual waste can provide a significant source of nutrients for the soil of Pennsylvania, however, the application and transport of these materials must be carefully monitored for public and environmental safety.
 
That is why I am introducing legislation which will provide a certification and training program for those who wish to haul or broker food processing residual waste for application or storage in the Commonwealth. The program will ensure that those transporting food processing residual waste are aware of state safety measures and record each shipment appropriately.
 
Please join me in ensuring the safety of our streets and communities by creating this program.
