Subject: | Recognizing October 6-12, 2024 as Fire Prevention Week in Pennsylvania |
We are requesting your co-sponsorship of a resolution that we are introducing to recognize October 6-12, 2024, as "Fire Prevention Week™" in Pennsylvania. The theme for this year's Fire Prevention Week™, as chosen by the National Fire Protection Association®, is “Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!” It serves as a reminder to keep your smoke alarms updated and ready to go off in case of an emergency as their use drastically increases the likelihood of surviving the outbreak of a house fire. Fire Prevention Week™ is an opportunity to raise awareness and educate people about fire safety and prevention in their homes and communities. It also acknowledges the commendable service of all first responders, firefighters, and fire service agencies in Pennsylvania. Please join us in supporting awareness of fire safety in Pennsylvania. |
