Senate of Pennsylvania
Session of 2015 - 2016 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: December 5, 2014 09:06 AM
From: Senator Rob Teplitz
To: All Senate members
Subject: Legislation - Veteran's Entrepreneurial Training & Support Act

In the near future, I plan on introducing legislation that would create the Veteran’s Entrepreneurial Training and Support Act.

This program, working in consultation with the Department of Military and Veteran Affairs, would be tasked with providing small business and entrepreneurial focused services to veterans and reservists. The overall goal of the program is to assist veterans and reservists in obtaining the necessary skills to create, manage, and operate a small business.

As we all are aware, Pennsylvania’s economic recovery remains fragile and unsteady. It is critical that we pursue policies that stimulate the economy, move business forward and create jobs even in midst of difficult fiscal times.

This legislation is one part of a legislative package called PA Works that is designed to create 28,000 new jobs, leverage over $2 billion in new private investment and save $150 million. This was Senate Bill 203 from last session, introduced by Senator Kasunic and co-sponsored by Senators Farnese, Brewster, Fontana, Tartaglione, Stack, Costa, Hughes and Vulakovich.

Introduced as SB155
