Subject: | Requiring Supermajority Vote for Tax Increases |
I plan to re-introduce a Joint Resolution which would propose an amendment to the Pennsylvania Constitution. That amendment would require a two-thirds (2/3) vote in each house of the General Assembly before approval of any legislation to either increase the rate of existing taxes or licensing fees, or to impose a new tax or license fee. Co-sponsors of the legislation (SB 306) in the 2013-2014 session were: VOGEL, FOLMER, RAFFERTY, HUTCHINSON, WAUGH AND D. WHITE. Please join me in sponsoring this important taxpayer protection. |
Introduced as SB325
