Subject: | Resolution – Remember Everyone Deployed (“Red Friday”) |
In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution to commemorate June 26, 2015 as “Remember Everyone Deployed (Red Friday)” in Pennsylvania. Red Friday was designed as an opportunity for red-blooded Americans to demonstrate their support of the troops whom are currently deployed. Groups have advocated the wearing of red on Fridays to show their support for all members of the armed forces abroad, regardless of the circumstances under which they were deployed. Furthermore, it is imperative that we acknowledge those who are missing in action (MIA). As of April of 2013, there are currently 1,649 Americans that remain unaccounted for. People will wear the bold and bright color red until the last troop returns home. Friday has been designated as a common day of the week to wear the color red for all the service men and women who are deployed. Please join me in honoring the sacrifice of these service men and women who continue to be deployed by signing on as a co-sponsor of this resolution. |
