From: Senator Matt Smith and Sen. Wayne D. Fontana, Sen. Jay Costa
To: All Senate members
Subject: Condolence Resolution to honor the life and work of former Senate Majority Leader Thomas F. Lamb of Allegheny County

In the near future we will be introducing a condolence resolution honoring the life of former State Senator Thomas F. Lamb of the 42nd Senate District, who passed away at the age of 92 on Thursday May 7, 2015. Senator Lamb served in both the State House of Representatives from 1958-1966 and in the State Senate from 1966-1974. Senator Lamb served as Senate Majority Leader from 1971- 1974. Sen. Lamb decided to retire from elective office in 1974, but went on to provide distinguished service both inside and outside of government for many years thereafter.

Following his service in the State Senate, Sen. Lamb worked in governmental affairs for the University of Pittsburgh until 1987, when Gov. Robert Casey appointed him as his Secretary of Legislative Affairs. He served as Secretary of Legislative Affairs until 1991.

Following his retirement from public life Senator Lamb resided in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania in the 37th Senate District. Please join us in co-sponsoring this condolence resolution honoring our former colleague.
