Subject: | Resolution designating February 2016 as “American Heart Month” in Pennsylvania |
Please join me in co-sponsoring a resolution designating February 2016 as “American Heart Month” in Pennsylvania. Heart disease is the number one killer of Americans, accounting for one death every 34 seconds. Cardiovascular disease is shown by research to be preventable through community-based strategies: to becoming trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), to call 9-1-1 I symptoms of heart attacks occur, and to reduce the risk of heart disease though exercise and healthy eating. The American Heart Association, during American Heart Month, encourages citizens to help reduce heart disease deaths by practicing these community-based strategies. I welcome your support in the effort to reduce heart disease by raising awareness during “American Heart Month”. Thank you. |
