Subject: | Resolution Limiting Simple Resolutions |
I am writing to invite you to cosponsor a resolution I intend to offer that would amend the Senate Rules regarding the offering of simple resolutions. During my six years as a member of the House of Representatives and now the Senate, I have come to understand and appreciate the value of resolutions that highlight achievements, mark milestones or promote causes. However, I also believe the important legislative work of the Senate must be prioritized and we must do all we can to reduce the costs associated with developing, printing and executing these resolutions. Please join me in supporting this commonsense measure that is intended to reduce the costs associated with simple resolutions as well as prioritize the important work of the Senate. |
