Subject: | Resolution – Jewish American Heritage Month |
In the near future, we will be introducing a resolution designating the month of May 2016 as “Jewish American Heritage Month” in Pennsylvania. Jewish American Heritage Month was created by President George W. Bush, following congressional resolutions introduced by U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida and the late U.S. Senator Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania urging the recognition of the more than 350-year history of Jewish contributions to American culture. This resolution has been previously introduced in the PA House by Representative Mark Cohen. I thank him for recognizing the Jewish American contributions to Pennsylvania and for his cooperation in introducing this resolution in the Senate. Please join us in honoring the achievements of Jewish Americans in the arts, science, the military, business and industry, and in public and community service by co-sponsoring this resolution. |
