Subject: | Law Month in Pennsylvania May 2017 |
In the very near future, I plan to introduce a resolution to designate May 1, 2017 as Law Day in Pennsylvania. The theme for this year’s celebration is “The 14th Amendment: Transforming American Democracy”. This event has been designated as a day to educate people of all ages about the legal system and to celebrate liberty, justice and equality. We will teach our children about the importance of civil and human rights and promoting equality for all under the law. Pennsylvania observes Law Day by focusing on our children from Kindergarten through college levels. Our judges and lawyers visit with our schools educating our children about their legal rights and responsibilities. The Pennsylvania Bar Association is in its 14th year of participating along with county bar associations across the Commonwealth. I hope that you will join me in co-sponsoring this important resolution. |
