Subject: | Turkey Calling Restrictions |
I will soon be re-introducing legislation (previous HB 730) that will restrict certain turkey calling practices. In advance of the spring gobbler season, some hunters may gain an unfair advantage by regularly calling the birds before the start of the season, which can in turn "educate" turkeys through this repetition. My legislation would address this issue by prohibiting the use of calls that mimic the sound of a hen turkey 30 days prior to the beginning of the spring gobbler season. It would not ban locator calls, nor would it affect turkey calling during the season or at any other time of year, including the fall turkey season. Please join me in sponsoring this bill. |
