Subject: Requiring outpatient drug and alcohol treatment facilities to provide certain therapies and services for patients
 
In the near future I intend to introduce legislation which will require outpatient drug and alcohol treatment facilities to require certain therapies and services to patients.
Drug and alcohol addictions not only devastate the personal lives of those with the addiction but they compromise their ability to function as productive members of society. In many cases when the reality of an addiction is realized the individual has often lost employment and even the ability to handle day to day tasks.
This legislation would require that, in addition to outpatient drug and alcohol counseling, that all outpatient drug and alcohol treatment facilities provide one on one support, job training and support to deal with basic needs and life skills.
