Subject: | Five Year Prohibition on State Contracts for Former Statewide Officials |
In the near future, I will be re-introducing HB 945 which would prohibit publicly elected statewide officeholders from entering into employment agreements or contracts with businesses or corporations that do business with the Commonwealth. The bill will restrict publicly elected statewide officials from entering into these contracts during their tenure in office and will continue for five years after leaving such office. This legislation is extremely important to the Commonwealth and our constituency. By prohibiting the ability of publicly elected statewide officeholders to enter into governmental contracts we can effectively eliminate “special interest” and “closed door” contract agreements. The public should not have to worry about elected officials performing their duties with incentives for personal benefit. Please join me in this effort. |
Introduced as HB1433
