Subject: Underwater Beaver Traps
 
In the near future I will be introducing legislation to increase the size of beaver leg-hold traps that are completely submerged underwater.

Under my bill, beaver leg-hold traps that are completely submerged underwater could now have a jaw spread of seven and three quarter inches. Adjusting the jaw width to seven and three quarter inches would give trappers the opportunity to modify their current traps to provide them with a better tool to humanely trap these animals. Several of my constituents including a furbearer biologist recommended these changes.
