Subject: | Allowing the Secretary of Transportation to Designate an Alternate |
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation allowing the Secretary of Transportation to designate any of the executive deputy secretaries or deputy secretaries to act in his or her place. Currently, the Secretary of Transportation is legislatively required to serve on multiple boards, commissions, and committees, all of which routinely hold public hearings and meetings across the Commonwealth. This can result in logistical difficulties for the Secretary in fulfilling his or her official duties. By allowing the Secretary to designate any of the executive deputy secretaries or deputy secretaries to act in his or her place, the Secretary will be able to make more efficient use of the office’s time and resources, in addition to meeting his or her responsibilities in the event of a scheduling conflict. Please join me in co-sponsoring this important piece of legislation |
