Subject: | Resolution naming October 2017 as "Community Planning Month" |
In the near future, I will introduce a resolution designating October 2017 as “Community Planning Month” in Pennsylvania. Community planning has a long history in this Commonwealth, dating back to William Penn’s plan for the City of Philadelphia. More than 10,000 residents serve on municipal planning commissions. With October being designated as “National Community Planning Month,” and with the Pennsylvania chapter of the American Planning Association holding its annual conference in the State College region October 22 through 24, it is only fitting that we honor the many valuable contributions made by professional community planners and professional regional planners, working in the public and private sectors in this Commonwealth by naming October 2017 as “Community Planning Month” in Pennsylvania. Please join me in co-sponsoring this legislation. |
