Subject: | Extending Whistleblower Protection to all Judicial Branch Employees |
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation which would amend the Commonwealth’s Whistleblower Law (Act 196 of 1986) to extend protections for judicial branch employees. As you may know, this law was amended in 2014 to expand the scope of protections, however it remained vague as to whether or not Judiciary Branch employees are truly covered. Quite simply, my legislation would comprehensively include all of the Commonwealth’s judicial system as a public body under the law. I believe that all state employees who call out waste and abuse --even those who are employed by our judicial branch of state government-- should be afforded the protection that The Whistleblower Law provides. I hope that you will join with me and show your support for all whistleblowers by co-sponsoring this important legislation. |
