Subject: Heart and Lung Act for corrections officers employed by local governments
 
In the near future, I will introduce legislation to add corrections officers employed by local governments to the Enforcement Officer Disability Benefits law. This is also known as the Heart and Lung Act.

This law currently covers officers employed by the PA Department of Corrections, but not corrections officers who are employed by local governments and they too, experience the same types of hazards and dangers while on the job.
