Subject: | Mandatory Reporting and Tracking of Non-Fatal Opioid Overdoses |
I plan to introduce legislation which would require the Department of Health to track and report occurrences of opioid overdoses that do not result in fatality. As part of a package of bills that I am sponsoring, this bill would task the Department of Health with reporting on the cases in which non-fatal overdoses relating to opioid use occur. While the reporting of this may occur already through police department protocol or Executive Order, I feel that the Department of Health should be able to monitor and track these occurrences and provide the statistical information to lawmakers and the general public. Please contact my office at 717-787-4236 with any questions. |
