Subject: | A Resolution recognizing March 29, 2018, as "Vietnam War Day" in Pennsylvania |
In the near future, we plan to introduce a resolution proclaiming March 29th as “Vietnam War Day” in Pennsylvania. March 29th marks the date that the last of our U.S. Troops departed Vietnam in 1973. March 30th marks the date that our troops landed home. There were more than 304,000 service members wounded in Vietnam, approximately 75,000 disabled, and of the 58,193 service members who lost their lives, 3,144 were from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Public debate and political crossfire, in many cases, led to the unfortunate mistreatment of many of our soldiers as they returned to the United States from Vietnam. Last year, a similar resolution - SR 70 - was sponsored by Senators Vulakovich, Costa, Argall, Aument, Baker, Bartolotta, Browne, Dinniman, Folmer, Greenleaf, Hutchinson, Killion, Martin, Mensch, Rafferty, Reschenthaler, Scavello, Vogel, Ward, White, Yaw and Yudichak. Please join us recognizing these American heroes. If you have any questions, please contact Nate Silcox of Senator Vulakovich's Office. |
Introduced as SR306
