Subject: | Recognizing the month of May 2018 as "Melanoma and Skin Cancer Detection and Prevention Month in PA |
In the near future I plan to introduce a resolution designating May 2018 as “Melanoma and Skin Cancer Detection and Prevention” month in Pennsylvania. Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States, with current estimates that one in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. It is estimated that 91,110, new cases of melanoma will be diagnosed in 2018. Melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer. However, with early detection, melanoma and other skin cancers are highly treatable. Please join me in cosponsoring this resolution to raise awareness about skin cancer, increasing the chances of early detection. |
