Subject: Mental Health Instruction Survey
 
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that will require the State Board of Education to conduct a mental health instruction survey.

All secondary public school entities will be asked to provide a description of the manner in which school entities are offering instruction in mental health, including the number of hours of instruction offered, the grade levels at which such instruction is offered and the course within such instruction is integrated. In turn, the State Board of Education will provide the House and Senate Education Committee chairs with recommendations for improvements to the offering of instruction in mental health, including recommended legislation.
