| Subject: | Recognizing 4-H Organization and Annual 4-H Capital Days Event |
| In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution recognizing the 4-H Organization and their Annual 4-H Capital Days Event here in Harrisburg later this month. The 4-H Organization is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship and life skills. 4-H empowers youth to reach their full potential working and learning in partnership with caring adults. Here in Pennsylvania, activities focus mainly on the local 4-H Club and include group activities such as fairs, trips, camping, teen leader trainings, fundraising, achievement programs and county, regional, and state learning opportunities. Pennsylvania 4-H Capital Days is a three-day event designed to teach youth about civic engagement and provide an arena for them to see, first-hand, how their state government works. This year the event is being held March 30 – April 1 at the Harrisburg Hilton and Towers. Participants will have the opportunity to attend workshops, tour the Capitol, learn about voting processes, have a mock legislative session, and hear from various guest speakers. Please join me in cosponsoring this resolution. |
