Subject: | Educating and Raising Awareness of Undifferentiated Pleomorphic Sarcoma |
According to the American Cancer Society, approximately 12,750 new soft tissue sarcomas will be diagnosed in the United States and approximately 5,270 Americans will die from soft tissue sarcomas in 2019. Undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma (UPS) is one of approximately 50 different types of soft tissue sarcomas, a rare diagnosis that can lead to large, painful masses that affect bone and muscle. At this time, researchers are doing their best to determine the cause of UPS, though making treatment a difficult journey for some who receive the unfortunate news. We all know an individual who has fought the long and difficult battle against cancer. Please join me in urging the residents of Pennsylvania to wholly support and recognize the efforts, programs, services and organizations that work to enhance research and awareness of UPS. Through improved awareness and effective research, we can combat the diagnosis with a stronger hand for future Pennsylvanians. |
