Subject: Sergeant David Leon Barber Memorial Bridge
 
In the near future, I will introduce legislation to honor Sergeant David Leon Barber.

The bill will designate the bridge on a portion of State Route 1036 over Six Mile Run in Bedford County as the Sergeant David Leon Barber Memorial Bridge.

A native of Defiance in Bedford County, Sergeant Barber served with the 75th Ranger Regiment, 1st Brigade, 5th Infantry Division during the Vietnam War.

Sergeant David Leon Barber gave his life in service to our country on December 21, 1969 when the helicopter he was in was shot down.
