Subject: | Allowing the holder of a “D” License (Beer Distributor) the ability to convert license to an “R” License (Restaurant). |
Soon, I will introduce legislation allowing the holder of a “D” License (Beer Distributor) the ability to convert license to an “R” License (Restaurant). - Requires an application and a payment of a $30,000.00 to the Board. - Does NOT apply/allow the conversion of “D” License within a city of the First Class. - Upon conversion the “R” License may relocate to ANY County within the Commonwealth except one of the First Class. Excluding Philadelphia there are 976 “D” Licenses currently active in Pennsylvania. Due to population shifts and many other external factors, a percentage of these licensees are hampered in their ability to compete effectively within the Malt Beverage market. My proposed legislation would allow those negatively affected the ability to liquidate, recoup lost value and provide “R” Licenses to areas of the Commonwealth where they are needed. Please consider co-sponsoring this important “JOB CREATING” legislation! |
