Subject: | Consolidating the Main Street Program and Elm Street Program Statutes |
Please join me as a co-sponsor of legislation to consolidate the Main Street Act (Act 39 of 2002) and the Elm Street Program Act (Act 7 of 2004) statutes into Title 14 (Community Affairs) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes. This legislation is part of the effort to clean up and modernize Pennsylvania’s statutes. The Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) oversees both the Main Street Program and Elm Street Program. The Main Street Program helps communities’ downtown economic development efforts through the establishment of a local organization dedicated to downtown revitalization. The Elm Street Program helps communities to prepare and implement a revitalization strategy for established residential neighborhoods which are in close proximity to either a Main Street Program project or an existing commercial district. I look forward to working with you on this important legislation. |
