Subject: | Co-Sponsorship: Honoring the Chester, Ridley, Crum Watersheds Association for 50 years of watershed protection in Chester and Delaware Counties |
The Chester, Ridley, Crum Watersheds Association (CRCWA) has been protecting local watersheds for over 50 years. The CRCWA was established as a non-profit in 1970 by a group of local citizens concerned about the impacts of increasing urban and suburban development on watersheds in the area. The CRCWA’s mission is to support, encourage, and promote the enjoyment, restoration, conservation, protection, and prudent management of the natural resources of these important watersheds. The history of the CRCWA addresses the fact that ninety-five percent of area streams are categorized as impaired by the Commonwealth. To this day, the CRCWA mission endures. By the end of last year, the organization, with the help of nearly 600 volunteers, removed 9.5 tons of trash and debris from local creeks and streams. In addition, the CRCWA has established a rigorous and productive tree planting program, a water quality monitoring program, and other programs that help to improve watershed health in the nearby counties. With this in mind, I intend to introduce a Resolution that honors the Chester, Ridley, Crum Watersheds Association for 50 years of watershed protection in Chester and Delaware Counties and ask that you please consider joining me in honoring this outstanding organization and the vital work they do. To that end, if you have any questions regarding this Resolution, please do not hesitate to contact Sean West in my Malvern Constituent Services Office (610) 251-1070 or via email at SWest@pahouse.net. |
