Subject: | Resolution directing the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee (LBFC) to study Obstetrical Services in PA |
I kindly ask for your support of a resolution that would direct the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee (LBFC) to conduct a study on the availability and accessibility of obstetrical services in Pennsylvania. This resolution would request the LBFC to review the accessibility of services, adequacy of provider networks, insurance status of women needing assistance, standards of care, adequacy of Medical Assistance (MA) payments, as well as any other critical information. These findings would be documented and reported to the General Assembly for further review. The language for this resolution based on House Resolution 644 from the 2007-2008 legislative session. The concern stems from the limited amount of healthcare professionals delivering babies and the accessibility of care. Join me as a co-sponsor to further investigate accessibility and data about the Obstetrical Services in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. |
