Subject: | “Week of the Young Child” in Pennsylvania |
Early childhood learning is essential for children growing up in today’s society. Indeed, as knowledge has increased about the importance of children’s earliest years in shaping their learning and development, so have the growing needs of young children, their families, and the early childhood programs that serve them which are more pressing than ever before. That is why I am re-introducing my resolution to recognize the “Week of the Young Child” in Pennsylvania, which will be held this year from April 11 through 17, 2020. Since 1971, local organizations throughout the Commonwealth and the country, in conjunction with the National Association for the Education of Young Children, have been celebrating the “Week of the Young Child.” This week is a time to bring attention to the needs of young children and their families and recognize early childhood programs and services that meet those needs. All young children and their families deserve access to high-quality early education and care. These organizations are working to improve early learning opportunities, which are crucial to the growth and development of young children and a path to building better futures for everyone. Please join me in celebrating and bringing awareness to early learning, young children, their teachers and their families by supporting this legislation. |
