Subject: Protecting Workers During Mandatory Quarantines

It has never been easier to travel the world than it is today. However, with the ease of travel, communicable diseases are able to spread farther and faster than ever before. The recent coronavirus outbreak has shown how quickly a disease can travel across the globe. Our first defense to slow and stop the spread of disease is through isolation or quarantine. However, if a person is detained for weeks as a precautionary measure, their job could be at risk.

In order to help protect Pennsylvania workers and their families, I will be introducing legislation that will provide job protections for people who are forced to miss work because they have been quarantined by the government or medical community. We cannot allow families to face the uncertainty of job loss after going through the stressful time of isolation or quarantine.

Please join me to create job protections for workers as we battle our current and future public health threats.

Introduced as HB2362
