Subject: | PHEAA and PHFA Loan Interest Suspension due to COVID-19 |
MEMORANDUM
In the span of three months, COVID-19 has infected more than 130,000 people worldwide. In Pennsylvania alone, there are 96 confirmed cases – and that number will most likely continue to grow in the coming weeks. Not only does this virus heavily impact our day-to-day lives, it also affects our futures. Hardworking Pennsylvanians and their families are finding themselves out of a job or with reduced hours. With limited access to income, they are unable to pay their rent, bills, loans, and many other expenses accrued over time.
In the coming days, I will be introducing a bill package that will accomplish two important and needed means of assistance:
The goal of this legislation is to protect our workers and homeowners during this trying time. Please join me in co-sponsoring legislation to provide relief for our struggling Pennsylvanians.
