Subject: | Co-Sponsorship-Rep. Mary Isaacson Recognizing May 2020 as National Moving Month |
Professional moving companies across the country work to help millions of families move into new residences each year. Moving can be a stressful process, even under the best of circumstances, and while Pennsylvania has numerous, quality moving companies, there has been a growing number of complaints of rogue movers with fraudulent practices that drain families emotionally and financially. Given this rise in moving fraud I plan to introduce a resolution designating May as National Moving Month in Pennsylvania. Doing so will help spread awareness of the existence of rogue and fraudulent movers and urge Pennsylvanians to protect their families and their belongings by only utilizing professional moving companies who provide hard-copy estimates, have branded vehicles and real brick-and-mortar offices, and don’t make demands for up-front cash payments. I ask that you support this legislation and join me in bringing moving fraud awareness to the forefront in Pennsylvania and protect our hard-working families and their possessions. |
