Subject: | Resolution Designating March 8, 2020 as International Women's Day |
In the near future, I will be re-introducing a resolution to recognize "International Women's Day" in the Commonwealth. #EachforEqual - An Equal World is an Enabled World is the 2020 theme for this year's March 8th celebration. I encourage you to join me as a co-sponsor. International Women's Day has been observed since the early 1900's, and annually on March 8th. Thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate achievements. This day strives to acknowledge the economic, political and social achievements of women throughout history and it is my belief that our Commonwealth should join in recognizing both these accomplishments and how vital women are to our communities. |
