Subject: | Prohibiting Vehicle Repossessions During a State of Emergency |
The COVID-19 pandemic has had an enormous effect on people’s daily lives. People are facing unemployment, working from home, or still going to work because their job is essential. During these emergencies, people should not have to worry about their vehicle being repossessed. This vehicle could be the person’s only means to get to work, collect groceries, or transport their family to the doctor. In order to help people in times of crisis, we will be introducing legislation that will prohibit a lender from repossessing a vehicle when the Governor has declared a state of disaster emergency. The prohibition will help keep families from losing their vehicles in these uncertain times. We ask that you support this legislation and prevent extra stress for families across Pennsylvania. |
