Subject: | Including RV’s and Campers in the Automobile Lemon Law (former HB2960) |
Many Pennsylvania residents have fond memories of vacations in the family RV or camper. But what happens when you buy a new motor home, and it turns out to be faulty no matter what you try to do to fix it? The Automobile Lemon Law is an important consumer protection for new automobile purchasers; however, it currently does not apply to recreational vehicles (RVs). For this reason, I am introducing legislation to include recreational vehicles in the Automobile Lemon Law. My bill would require recreational vehicle manufacturers to replace a RV or camper with habitual problems that occur within the first year of purchase or 12,000 miles. RVs are a significant financial investment, and consumers deserve the comfort in knowing their purchase is protected if something was built or assembled improperly. I hope you join with me and support this legislation. Now is the time to take a critical step to ensure that quality motor homes are crossing the country, one vacation at a time. |
