MEMORANDUM

Posted: February 9, 2021 09:24 AM
From: Representative Robert Freeman
To: All House members
Subject: Vehicle Registration

In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that would amend Title 75 (Vehicles), further providing for additional information on a vehicle registration card.

My legislation would require PennDOT to include the make, model and year on a vehicle registration card.  Currently, Title 75 requires the registration number assigned to the vehicle, the name and address of the registrant and the name of the owner, if other than the registrant, a description of the vehicle including the vehicle identification number, the expiration date, and any other information as determined by the department.  A City of Easton police officer brought to my attention that in trying to apprehend a suspect, having the model and year of the vehicle, as well as the make, would aid law enforcement in identifying the vehicle they are looking for.

Please join me in co-sponsoring this legislation.
