Subject: Allowing Non-session, Non-emergency Committee Votes by Designation
 
 
We have proven our ability to operate remotely during the COVID-19 health disaster declaration. As such, I believe it is important for us to consider how conducting in-person committee meetings during a non-emergency, non-session week further expend taxpayer funds.

For these reasons, I plan to introduce a resolution to amend the House Rules to permanently allow committee votes by designation during a non-emergency, non-session week.  Amending the rules for committee votes during non-emergency, non-session weeks will ensure we can continue to work for the people of Pennsylvania, while being mindful of the monetary costs.

As members of the “People’s House,” I hope you will join me in co-sponsoring this resolution to increase efficiency and effectiveness.  Your consideration is greatly appreciated.
