Subject: Assisting Our Veteran-Owned Small Businesses
 
In 2012, the Veteran-Owned Small Business program was established under the Department of General Services in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Since its inception, the program was prescribed a statewide annual goal or guaranteed contract minimum participation rate of 3%.

This legislation merely seeks to increase the contract participation rate from 3 to 6%. This crucial update will not only assist and aid our Veteran-Owned Small Businesses tremendously but will also ensure that they do not feel pitted against other diverse businesses seeking state contracts.

Our Veterans stood on the frontlines countless times to defend our Nation and safety. Now it is time that we stand up and thank them by supporting them in this important endeavor.
