Subject: | Recognizing National FFA Week in Pennsylvania (February 20-27, 2021) |
In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution designating the week of February 20th through the 27th as National Future Farmers of America (FFA) Week in Pennsylvania. The FFA is a national organization that seeks to engage our youth, while promoting the future of agriculture through education. Pennsylvania’s four FFA regions are comprised of over 13,000 student members, while nationwide the organization’s numbers have grown to over a half million. FFA members are encouraged to participate in career and leadership development events; compete at the chapter, regional, state and national levels; and benefit from gaining real-life, hands-on experience. Trademarked by their traditional blue corduroy jackets, young men and women with diverse backgrounds serve their chapters, their communities, and their country through this exemplary youth organization. Please join me in co-sponsoring this resolution, which the Senate has historically adopted to honor and congratulate the members, advisors and parents involved in the Pennsylvania FFA. |
