Senate of Pennsylvania
Session of 2021 - 2022 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: January 8, 2021 11:18 AM
From: Senator Scott Martin
To: All Senate members
Subject: February 15, 2021 - International Childhood Cancer Day in Pennsylvania

In the near future, I will introduce a resolution designating February 15, 2021 as International Childhood Cancer Day in Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania made great strides in recent legislative sessions to provide support for research related to pediatric cancer, but our work is far from over. While we continue that progress, it is also important to take the time to recognize these amazing children fighting, honor those that we have lost and to refocus and renew our commitment to the cause.  We also do this throughout the month of September.

By continuing to promote awareness, we as a legislature can remind children and their families that we are standing with them in their fight both with cancer as well as with the long term effects cancer and cancer treatments have on their bodies. We should continue to use every opportunity to encourage the public to help support these families as well as emphasize innovation in research and treatment so that one day we can finally beat cancer and improve the quality of life for our children after they do so.

I ask for your support by co-sponsoring this resolution.
